About Matt
Matt is a dedicated and enthusiastic educator, holding a professorial position at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music & Dance, where he lectures in Orchestration and Composition. Additionally, he serves as an Associate Lecturer at Goldsmiths University (University of London), where he teaches Jazz Composition, Jazz History, and Performance.
Teaching Positions
Throughout his career, Matt has held visiting tutor positions at prestigious institutions, including Leeds Conservatoire, National Youth Jazz Orchestra, Julian Joseph Jazz Academy, and the Royal Academy of Music’s Junior department.
As an Arranger and Orchestrator
As a prolific arranger and orchestrator, Matt’s work has been performed at concert halls and festivals across the globe. Some of his recent projects include:

Matt’s Own Ensembles
In addition to his work as an arranger and orchestrator, Matt leads a Big Band and a BigISH Band under his own name. These ensembles regularly perform at London’s renowned Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, as well as making annual appearances at the London Jazz Festival. Both bands exclusively showcase Matt’s original compositions and arrangements.
